The Preparatory Year is an initiative from the State Government for children who turn 5 years of age on or before  the 30th of June in the year they wish to enrol. As of 2017, the Prep program is a compulsory, full-time, full-day program which aims to provide educational experiences for children based on the Early Years Curriculum and Australian Curriculum. The key components of the program develop skills in problem solving, investigating, participation and reflection.
